We offer a Nationwide (UK) service fitting silent systems to acoustic pianos, allowing you to play using headphones without disturbing others. The system has 2 headphone ports, AUX output and MIDI ports.
We have showrooms in Manchester and London and this micro-site belongs to our main website, www.MarkGoodwinPianos.co.uk. You can email us at mgpianos@gmail.com, phone us on 0161 213 9402 or 020 7060 5889, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube.
Silent pianos are traditional acoustic pianos but they have sensors installed under the keys so that you can listen with headphones as if you were playing a digital piano. A lever prevents the hammers from hitting the strings.
We use the very latest cutting-edge system from adsilent in Germany which is used by Petrov, Seiler, and other high-end piano manufacturers.
Here is a video made by Petrov. You will see Andreas Dutz part-way through the video. Andreas is the developer of adsilent and we have been trading with him for over 10 years. We like Andreas!
You need a piano with silent system when:
Yes. Our silent pianos come with MIDI in/out so you can connect to your favourite sequencing software (Logic, Garageband, etc.) and start inputting parts directly from your acoustic piano. It also has Bluetooth connectivity
Here goes.
You can download the user manual here.
We cover the entire UK and will bring your piano back to our workshop to complete the installation. Please allow 1 week for us to collect your piano, 1 week to complete the work, and 1 week to return the piano to you. 3 weeks in total.
Yes, we can lend you a digital piano, free of charge. We will drop it off when we collect your piano.
OK, moving on. What's next?
Definitely not. We adjust each hammer to make room for the silent system (this is mentioned on the Silent Piano Wikipedia article) but there is no harm done. It is just a minor adjustment in action regulation.
We charge £1800 including parts, labour, and return delivery.
The adsilent system has a 12-month manufacturer's warranty but we choose to extend that to 24 months as we like to look after our customers. In reality, if your system develops faults at any stage we will do our best to work with the manufacturer to get the problem resolved with minimal cost and inconvenience to you.
Yes. Sensors are placed under each pedal so that they function as normal when in silent or acoustic mode.
Your piano's middle pedal will be unaffected and will work as normal when you play in acoustic mode. When you switch to silent mode, your middle pedal will then function as a sostenuto pedal instead.
